Ambergris Cay also known as Cayo Ambergris Castilian, is the largest island of Belize located northeast of the country near the border with Mexico in the Caribbean Sea and belongs administratively to the District of Belize, has a area of approximately 8 km ² and there live about 2000 people, mostly concentrated in the largest town.
San Pedro is located at the southern tip of the island. The island is protected from casual Sea Fury, the second largest barrier reef in the world is also a popular tourist destination in 1996 merited classification as a UNESCO World Heritage and is a very famous protected habitat.
